News from the Farm:
Strawberry-pickin is ON! and 3 weeks early to boot! Members of the Farm receive a U-Pick bonus of 1 pint of strawberries, from May 15-21. Additional pints are available at $2.29/pound PLUS you get an additional 10% off strawberries and all other produce in the Farm market.
At Mindful Hands, many of our products are hand-made by fair trade artisan groups in India and Nepal. Fair trade means that the artisans receive a fair and equitable wage for the work they do, safe working conditions, and access to education and healthcare services.
Please join us and our fellow Fair Trade retailer, Ten Thousand Villages Alexandria, to make Alexandria a certified fair trade town! Go to either shop and sign the petition or send an e-mail with your name and address, and the names of any stores in the area that sell Fair Trade goods, to: alexandria@tenthousandvillages.com.

Fabric artist in India
As supporters of the local food movement, Mindful Hands sponsors a program called Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA). From June through October, our local farm partner, Great Country Farms, delivers fresh organic produce weekly to our shop to be picked up by our CSA members.
If you're a member of our group CSA, you also receive free admission to the farm all season and a free winetasting at Bluemont Vineyard. Enjoy!
